In order for you to proceed with your help to buy payback you will need to find a RICS surveyor in your area who can carry out a help to buy valuation. This is a specific valuation which needs to conform to the requirements of Homes England.
RICS – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is a professional body which overseas and regulates its members. You will need to consider a “Regulated” Firm and a Registered RICS Surveyor for your Help to Buy valuation.
The link from Homes England takes you to the regulated members you require for you to consider the valuation. The search is based on post code but some surveyors will not do valuation work so it is important to consider who specialises in Help to Buy valuations.
For our own part we as Help to Buy RICS surveyors have specialised in providing these valuations and the advice required to deal with the help to Buy redemption process for a number of years.
We were involved from the start of the scheme and were one of only two surveying firms to be commissioned by the administrators in the early part of the scheme before the link above was introduced.
